Tulum Tulum is a very economical tourist option on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is also a place that has several interesting natural sites to visit. Its beaches are not the best as there are parts where you won’t find much sand around you and instead you will find firm rocks to lie on. However, you can walk around a...

Palenque – Mayan Ruins Palenque is a city located very close to the border between Mexico and Guatemala. Its main attraction is its Mayan ruins although it also has other natural attractions such as the Agua Azul waterfalls and the Misol-Ha waterfalls. We decided to visit only the Mayan ruins of Palenque which, in my opinion, are the best...

Two nights in Cancún Talking about good and bad things Cancún was everything that I was expecting. I think everybody has this place in his/her top 5 places to visit. However, to be honest, this is not the tourism I would enjoy. Cancún is located in Yucatan peninsula. It started its touristic development after 1970. It is said that before...

Cuernavaca y Tepoztlán! Before going to this city, most people told us that there was nothing to do there, and indeed, there is not much to do there, but a friend invited us to visit, so we went! Ana picked us up at the terminal and took us to a mandatory place to visit if you are in Cuernavaca...

Valladolid and the Cenotes Valladolid is a charming little town on the Yucatan peninsula. The town doesn’t have much to offer but it is quite cosy. Its main square, its market, several of its streets and the number of cenotes that surround it make this town a special place. The hostel we stayed at is called La Candelaria and...

Border crossing Mexico – Guatemala. Frontera Corozal We made the gruelling journey from Palenque in Mexico to Flores in Guatemala. Nowadays it is cheaper and easier to organise your own transport than to pay a travel agency to do it for you. However, as we had decided to go to Flores the next day and at the last minute...
